Question Take sharp photos up close and at a distance

Is it possible to take photos so that close objects located a meter away are as sharp as those located several dozen meters away?

Yes, you need a lens with a shorter focal length, usually called a macro lens. Some lenses have variable zoom, but a dedicated macro lens will almost always give better results.

But...what equipment are you looking to do this with?
If a simple cellphone camera, no.

A macro lens will absolutely not have distant objects in focus, in the same pic with close up objects.
Oh. I misunderstood what the OP was asking, then. The closest thing to what they're asking for would be something like the Lytro cameras that allow you to shift the point of focus after the fact. I guess you could combine two of the shots with Photoshop or whatever to kind of get what they want?

The term you are asking about is "depth of field". That is the area that is in focus. Smaller aperture (higher F stop number) has more depth of field.
