Hi.

I noticed something strange today in task manager.

I noticed that in the GPU heading it says "GPU Memory 1.5/8GB". I have an MSI Gaming X RX570 which has 4GB of memory so I was wondering if someone could tell me why that is?
It also says "Dedicate GPU Memory 1.4/4GB" and "Shared GPU Memory 0.1/4GB". This is whilst I only have Steam, Chrome and some sticky notes open.

Also, my RAM usage usually sits at around 4GB out of a possible 7.9GB. The task manager processes don't seem to add up to 4GB either which is bizarre - and even if I open several Chrome tabs extra it doesn't really go higher than 4GB unless I'm in a game etc. So I'm thinking maybe there's something weird going on with the 4GB of VRAM I actually have and the 4GB my RAM usage sits on.

Thanks in advance :)

Solution
Task Manager is not the best tool to use to see that kind of info.

Here I have a RTX 2070 Super with 8GB of VRAM on it and Task Manager says this below.

GPU Memory 0.4/24GB, 8GB dedicated and 16GB shared.

Windows monitoring tool is not really good.

If GPU-Z says you have 4GB of VRAM and DXDIAG too you're fine.

Yeah that makes sense. It says on DXDIAG 4075MB of VRAM so that checks out.

Thanks for your help.
