Question task manager says i have 1 core although i have a six-core

i have a ryzen 5 2600 cpu and i have been finding that my cpu struggles with simple tasks or old games that i played. on task manager it says i have only one core although i have six. i updated my motherboard bios before taking action btw.

does anyone have a solution to this ? )

Hmm your cpu is reporting 1 core and 2 threads something is amiss...… let me think....what power setting do you have on in windows?

Also have you overclocked your cpu I see it is at 1.34 volts that's high for that cpu?

Have you ever expierenced shut down or bsod before you realized it was only using one core?

So go into bios, under advanced, look for cpu configuration, look for cores enabled, make sure it says all.

Did you look in msconfig > Boot > Advanced options > number of processors ? Should be either unchecked or set to 12.

maybe its power issue that prevents cpu from working at full speed. Make and model of psu?

have you checked in task manager that the CPU graph is set to "logical processors" by default I believe its set to "overall processors" . you can change this by right clicking on the CPU graph and choosing "logical processors" could you have put the CPU cooler on too tight? I have known people who have had RAM issues due to installing a CPU cooler too tight.

could Ryzen Master do it? I read it could at least. Someone posted similar to this and said it had changed some settings.

No, Game Mode would just disable 3 cores. Which motherboard do you have ?

Your OS runs in a custom safe-mode, automatically enabled to disable multi-core-processing, due to an incompatibility of the the drivers handling pci-e and dma, in most cases as a reaction to a not correctly initialized (i/a)GPU driver. Disabled multi-core in such processor-class leads to one active native core represented by two logical units, which are partitioned ressources - handled similar to basic hyper-threading.
