My Win XP Home Edition Taskbar has gone walkabout. Can anyone offer any
suggestions?

Could it be shrunk down to a couple of lines on the edge of the screen
(hidden)? This capability has long existed in Windows to give users the
option to use that extra space for their application windows. When the
option is used you can use the taskbar by moving the mouse to that edge
of the screen. Try all four edges, as the taskbar can be moved to any of
them.
