TBird o/c problems

I'm having problems unlocking the multiplier lock on my TBird 800MHz. I'm using an ordinary 0.5mm pencil, with no luck. Anyone that has some ideas of what other connection materials to use?

Also... saw someone posting here about those copperpads so that you will cool down the entire CPU instead of just the chip. $5??? Where??? at 3dcool.com they are like $13.

Are you able to post at anything with your attempts at overclocking this way? I tried this trick with my friends CPU and at first I was getting erroneous speed settings. That is, posting at 750 when set at 950. it had to do with some lead causing a cross connection. Cleared it away and everything went smurfy.

Go get a rear window defroster repair kit, cost about 10 bucks and its fixed for good. Use a straight pin to apply, also do the L7 and unlock the multiplier. I got my Duron 700 to 1080 and it runs all day long at 1036. Piece of cake...

I have only done the L1 on my chip. Are you setting the multiplier to a set value with the L7? I'm using the A7V motherboard here, so i don't want to set the multiplier to a given value on the chip, because i want to play around with it.

No I have a KT7 ands I can change it to anything in the BIOs the L7 unlocks the voltage.

Where do i get a "pencil" that I can use to connect the bridges for unlocking the duron\t-bird processors??? Thank s for your rply

Just use a reg old #2 pencil or use rear window defroster repair kit.

Batman remember me. the KT7 with 750 that couldn't post higher than 950. anyway, what do you mean by unlocking the L7 and you can adjust your core voltage. I just did the L1 and in softmenu i can change the multiplier and the corevoltage. set at 1.85v but at the PC health it's showing 1.88. anyway, by doing the L7 will the voltage go even higher? say maype 2.0??? hehehe. I want to HIT 1Ghz so bad.

5 Step Plan to ultimate supremacy.

1. Goto the super market to purchase sensitive tool.
2. Buy a pack of .5mm BIC mechanical pencils.
3. Connect Level 1 bridges.
4. Set new settings on MB
5. Conquer world.

Yes to unlocking the L7. On a Duron 1.75 is top untill you do the L7 trick. With a Tbird I think you can go to 2.05. Good luck...

I think the highest you get with that trick is 2.05, but it'll differ a little bit on different MB's (the highest setting the a7v will go that way is 1.85V). tomshardware.com has a writeup though on how to mod the voltage regulator to get even higher voltages out of it. I think it's called something like "hardcore overclocking: tuning the asus a7v". the parts are very cheap, but it is delicate work. as a bonus, if you got screwed with one of those onboard sound MB's without the dip switches for multipliers, he shows how to add them.

Cool hope you get it up a little higher. I seen the artical you were talking about and it looked pretty easy...

batman wow, a DURON too, how may Processor you got dude? you have 2 blue core 750@1100 and now a Duron? damn, what you do with all those CPU?

ohh, and are you sure you can get 2.0v without modify(soldering) the KT7 board? DID i miss understood you? you are saying i can get 2.0v by simply connecting the L7 and setting my softmenu bios to max at 1.85??

I thought the only way to get above 1.85 was soldering the Kt7 board.

No Tbird yet just a Duron 700@1050 I have an Athlon 500@650 also...
