I'm getting the following error on my getaway
"shifter error" I put the game it into switch
test mode and the up and down switches are registering.

Any suggestions of where to check would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Steve

I still had the credit dot after the switch test mode. I hadn't played
a game on it yet since I had the
playfield cleared and am still installing it. So I put some balls in
it and the error went away :)

It must be a combination of things that trigger the error, I guess just
testing the switches on the shifter doesn't get rid of it.

Thanks,

Steve

Steve, I've gotten this on my Getaway from always shifting up and
never down. The machine assumes that the down shift switch doesn't
work when it isn't actuated for a long time. Try shifting down
occasionally to lauch the ball and you probably won't see the error
anymore.

I believe the magic number is 30. After that a credit dot will come up
on boot up showing any switch that have not had an activation.

Do you still have the credit dot after you test it?

Does the shifter work in game play?

When you power it up and there is a ball in the shooter lane, this will
cause it to kick, then put a dot on the DMD, flipper plunger adjustment
sometimes has a mind of its own too, after that.

I had the same problem after I shopped mine.
You just have to "downshift" once in awhile...
Otherwise it seems the switch doesnt get used and shows up as a credit
dot...
