Hello,

So I had trouble with my HDD where I used it as a windows recovery disk, not knowing that would delete all the data I had on my HDD. However, I think I am able to restore the data through Test Disk. The problem is, it's going very very slow. It's been going on for about 3 and a half hours now, and it only covered 6% of the cylinders.

Any tips on why this might be happening?

Thanks!

I've seen the recovery process run for days, and not on very large drives.

That windows disk procedure tells you twice that it will wipe the existing files, make sure you read the prompts that come up when you run software so this does not happen in the future to another thing.
