the corsairs have a 2400 xmp profile that enables the i7 3770k . so there no debate whether they will run. I did a google search found a couple people using the corsair vengeance at 2400 mhz no problem with the asrock z77 extreme 4 .there is an 1.2 and 1.3 xmp profile specs

X.M.P will usually help you to get to that predetermined profile without tweaking your system in BIOS but in the event that it does does tweaking due to instability issues in some systems. The possibility to go to DDR3 2400MHz will depend on your processors IMC and as all other things that fall under silicone lottery your system may or may not be able to push to 2400MHz but you won't know unless you've tried it out. If you should manually dial in a voltage for your rams, make sure it's not above 1.65v.

In the event of an issue, make sure you have the latency and timings noted down on a piece of paper that you can input in BIOS manually.

Is there a purpose to this thread? In short yes most 3770Ks can run 2400 on an extreme 4, it generally always requires an OC of the CPU, some 3570Ks can run 2400 also (again prob will require a decent OC)
