The AODDriver4.3 service failed ERROR.

In my event viewer I keep getting the following error:

The AODDriver4.3 service failed to start due to the following error:
The system cannot find the file specified.

Can some one help me with how to diagnose this error. I searched on line and there is very little that is a concrete answer as to how to diagnose it or what it is. One post said it had to do with corrupt files pertaining to the .Net Framework so I removed all of them and reinstalled the .Net Framework. This was not the answer as I an still getting the errors.

I had actually found this thread earlier just waiting to see if deleting AODDriver4.2 and AODDriver4.2.0 has fixed the issue. From what I can tell is only seems to error on start up and has yet to do it since deleting those drivers and registry entrys.

Paul NZ, These drivers get installed with AMD's driver packages. I don't have AMD OverDrive as it has to useful purpose except for telling how close the A series and FX series are to throttling. For this it is wonderful but otherwise it never worked for me on any motherboard or CPU combination I have had.

It is not on. As far as I can tell the display driver seems to like to use an old version of the AODDriver and because they are on the system and out dated/old version being used it throws the error. The error has not repeated itself since I did what was link by Moderator Phillip Corcoran. I had found this post before he linked it and applied the fix. I am just testing now to be sure the problem is solved before selecting the solution.

Thanks for your effort and time though. It is appreciated.

P.S. I OC only through the Bios and the use of MSI Afterburner so no AOD involved for me. I personally don't want or need it in CCC.

OK. The error has not repeated so I am saying this issue is solved. The solution is to remove the old AODDriverX.X.x that are in the device manager and remove them from the registry. This stops the error. The how to's are in the link that Moderator Phillip Concoran posted.

BEFORE APPLYING Read further down for the shortcut on how to remove the registry entry's easier than using Regedit like suggested in the main post.

This maybe a late answer but,

AODDriver4.x.x is installed in the following location:
C:\Program Files\AMD\ATI.ACE\Fuel\amd64\aoddriver2.sys

Windows Registry points to:
\??\C:\Program Files\ATI Technologies\ATI.ACE\Fuel\amd64\AODDriver2.sys
