I would like to burn an .ISO image file to a DVD but don't know what program to use. Is there a good one out there for free? If not, what is the best program that will allow me to burn .ISO images for DVDs?

If you have a DVD burner then you likely have DVD burning software. Do you have Nero, Sonic, Roxio, or NTI DVD burning software? If so, you can burn an ISO image. Have you got any of those?

I personally use Alcohol 120% more than any other image burning program. It suits my needs and is simple and easy to install without the other features that you don't need. It's not free though. 🙁

I had Nero but I decided to format my computer to start from scratch and when I tried to reinstall it the disc was corrupted. I think it got scratched and now I can't reinstall.

So until I get new software I was just wondering if there were any free programs out there I could use as a quickfix.

OK. Thats a good idea. Would you recommend buying it after the trial ends or is there a better program out there for burning DVDs, CDs, etc?

It's up to you. I mean I bought Alcohol 120% for $52 just for burning images. I just use iTunes for burning music and I never burn data CDs/DVDs. If you like Nero then buy it, you might also try Roxio's Easy CD Creator but the last time I used it I hated it (No trial though).

OK, thanks for the info. I really just need it to burn DVDs (I use I-Tunes for music as well). So I'll try the Nero trial and maybe check out 120% for the long term.

Power ISO, it is not free but after getting lost in all the options in Nero
I find Power ISO the best.
The thing is that you can select your ISO, just make sure you open any folder
you may have it in and it will display the words "Bootable image" in the Power
ISO window if it is bootable.

Hit Burn Button and you have your copy, has not let me down yet and all boot images to date have been Bootable, made by pressing one button.

The good thing is it is simple if thats what you are looking for, none of this multiple choice crap.

It is my guess that most of the options in nero are really not nesicery as most roads lead to rome but if you are professional and understand it mybe it is usefull, anyway hit burn is good for me.

Only my view and thoughts,
Little

Power ISO is the cure for those frustrated with bloated and dumbed down burnerwarez. It's a good solution to "Downloaded Software Syndrome." Seems senseless for Microsoft, Adobe, Symantec and their pals to cheap users out of physical media. That is doubly true given the big software houses have gotten anti-piracy/cracking crazy. A great add for XP and Vista.

One word of warning. Power ISO is for the tech savvy, only. Almost no instructions w/ help or online. Major downside, but if U know the specs on file types., this is your way out of the iso burning woods. 😱
