The chances Carrizo will fit on FM2+ ?

FM1, FM2, FM2+... AMD changed sockets with every new architecture. Carrizo-L is supposed to be out for the laptops in december. But the desktop version is a mystery. I couldn't find anything on it's socket, except for Wikipedia's claim that it will be FM2+, a claim that quotes a german article that actually says: "it ought to". Yet others claim that FM2+ might act as a bottle-neck, and that in order for the true performance to shine trough, they might need something else.

Maybe someone here has better insight.

Carrizo is planned for socket FM2+.

There are many different RoadMaps that says Carrizo is supported by FM2+. The reason is because that was the original plan. But there have been rumors that Carrizo won't be released to Desktop/FM2+ and only mobile platforms. One person, named Seronx, likes to spread rumors as facts after he finds a tiny bit of information on someone's linkedin profile an such.
If Carrizo is actually released for Desktops in 2015 I am almost sure that it will be available on FM2+ as originally planned.

AMD has been very defensive and tight on their internal operations and what they are doing right now. Until they give us official news it's hard to be sure. The only reason the FM2+ socket can be a bottleneck to Carrizo is that FM2+ is only DDR3 and the only thing they bottleneck is the IGP/bandwidth performance. Having DDR4 would raise the overall cost of the FM2+ platform which is meant for cheap, powerful systems.

lol, my bad.

How embarrassing.

There were some other good indicators that Carrizo was going to be for FM2+, but, give me time to find - and cross-reference - before posting anything for sure this time.

Now, excuse me while I go sulk.
