Its more of the same - theres a gravity gun added to the weaponry
but it doesnt function like the HL2 version. It allows you to grab
objects for a few seconds before you have to throw them and it
only throws - you cant put stuff down gently with it. You can throw
explosive barrels at monsters and even throw their own fire balls back
but other than that its same. If you liked D3 go ahead and buy it. If you
tired of the first game this wont help.

I think I read somewhere that you can use the reload button to put objects
down gently. Also being able to catch enemy projectiles and enemies itself
is a cool feature that shows that even the HL2 gravgun can be improved.

Anyone know how many levels it has?.. I'll be damned if I spend $39 or
$25 for 7 maps or somesuch nonsense. Personally this map pack should
be free IMHO.

I MIGHT pick it up for $19 someday but I highly doubt it.

I could catch plasma balls but not the rockets those skeletons fire at me.
I couldnt pull enemies around with it - just corpses.

Hear hear. Totally agree with this post. Gravity gun is totally inferior to
HL2's. And I thought id were trying to emulate Valve by silently trying to
call home to validate your CD key for single play.

Now that would be as inconsistent as the HL2 gun not being able to grab
small creatures like the headcrabs, which wasted a big chance IMHO 😉.

Maybe larger enemies are to big, but aren't you able to pull those flying
skulls or similar small things? Shame about the time of grabbing though.

I can only comment on the single-player component and it's essentially an
abbreviated version of Doom 3 plus a "gravity gun" and "bullet time" (gee...
how original). For the most part, the environments are still dark and
claustrophobic (and practically indistinguishable from the original game
IMO) and the gameplay still consists of the same boring, repetitive stuff.

If you loved Doom 3 and want more of the same, get the add-on. If you are
expecting any significant originality or innovation, forget it.

I thought I saw a wasp baby getting thrown around with it in a promo
vid.
