What is the point in locking a pc game's fps anyway, why not let people choose? This is as anti consumer as it gets.

wow, i have to have my Ad Blocker removed to add a comment? Good bye Toms Hardware. After 20 years of surfing, you've just lost me.

To answer the question, YES GAMERS WILL CARE. We spend near $1000 bucks to run games at 60+ fps, so when a developer locks it into 30, it's losing it's core audience...it's a great way to make sure that console gamers are the future and PC gamers felt pissed on

I doubt they'll care. If you're using Ad Blocker then you're draining their bandwidth without giving them any revenue so they'll probably be pleased to see you go.

Ad Block Plus doesn't pose any issues for me at least, sounds like a problem with your config.

It's a given that we care. I've been thoroughly unimpressed by all of the Bethesda games not developed by Bethesda Game Studios, and it looks like this is just another game to follow in that long succession. Also, their minimum specs make no sense, a core i7 but a GTX 460?

No, it is not a problem with his config. On Google Chrome, with AdBlock Plus enabled, you are unable to post a comment with a quote or to post a comment period.
I do not know what the issue is but I am betting it is more with AdBlock Plus than Chrome.

I think that the Bethesda staff need to stop being ostriches with their heads stuck in the sand and see the reality that a Core 2 Quad Q6600, Pentium G3258, i3-2100, and Phenom II x4 B55 are acceptable CPUs to run this game on. An i7-860 as a minimum required CPU is ridiculous. If this game will fail to launch on a non-i7 or Phenom II x6 CPU, then we might as well all puke in buckets while being marooned on a tropical island with angry pirates guarding it.:pt1cable:

Consoles are generally just a better experience. You never have those constant thoughts about not having the highest FPS possible and always changing your video settings because your 2 month old hardware can't push over 50fps. Oh no! Better invest another grand. PC = Waste of money.

I'd be hard pressed to play a game at a forced 30fps.

The original Prototype had issues with FPS over a certain amount, the controls were horrible if it went over that amount, making it very hard to play, turning on Vsync usually solved it. Hopefully for the people that must play and also must unlock the cap something similar does not happen.

And 2 things I noticed about adblock plus.

1: Whether using Chrome or Firefox with adblock disabled I cannot quote in the comments period.

2: I can however post with it on and off. The comment about 30fps above was posted in Chrome with AdBlock enabled.

In order to quote someone, I must be in the forums.

We all thought with the new gen being closer to PC, that PC ports would get better and better...

Guess we were wrong. It's getting worse and worse.

"30FPS no matter what game is -> unplayable on PC. "

That's not even remotely true. There's a reason most movies are shot at 24FPS. There's a certain cinematic magic that happens at the right frame rate with the right about of motion blur. This is true whether you're watching a movie or playing a game. For a multi-player first person shooter, 30fps might feel too low. For an atmospheric single player experience, 30fps is perfectly fine. For an excellent example of this I recommend you read some comparisons of the 48fps (HFR) version of The Hobbit vs the standard 24fps release.

Most PC gamers started PC gaming when they had old cheap hardware. From there you're gradually upgrading to most recent tech, which lasts years. For instance nowadays an i5 2500k + gtx670 is becoming mid-end, which I bought 2 years ago and the gtx 670 earlier than that. I just upgraded to an i7 4790k which will last me probably 4-6 years, and I bought a gtx 970 because I wanted to put myself ahead and it will last me 4-6 years as well. I see 60-200fps in well optimized games maxed out now, not really worrying about much. The good thing about PC's is that you don't have to spend a grand upgrading everything at once if you don't want to and still see significant performance increases. As for better experience? I can't understand how maxed out games on 144hz with solid lag-less, more detailed graphics, equates to a worse experience.
Also, consoles are limited to just gaming. :pfff:

While I like the sentiment, we should not catch ourselves doing their work for them. They already charge obscene amounts for disc media, we should not have an obligation to mod it just to make it work to a standard of value that's appropriate for what they charge.

30 fps isnt very smooth at all, yes its playable but if you go from say holding atleast 60, 96, or 120 you can clearly tell the difference when you move etc.

This game requirements are bullshit its dosen't even look so good compare to watch dogs with has less requirements than this plus I haye Japanese game developer's they always create bullshit games it's not even worth the requirements.

Those requirements are pretty crazy, but it is Bethesda we're talking about..However I think atleast an i5 2500k would run this game fine, but it might be tough on the GPU. If it runs at 30 fps, then I don't see how those requirements could really make sense.
