So... no more Generation? That's cool. I always thought a vampires power
should come only from his age, not from his closeness to Caine.

Well, they promised to cut out metaplot in WoD2. Getting rid of generation
would go a long way towards accomplishing that.

I believe that's been one of the things JA has wanted to do away with from
the beginning. Personally, I think this kicks much ass, and plan to use it
in Changeling.

even age would not mean much, since the blood potency dampens when a
vampire enters torpor...
and that's a thing i like

Wod2 ? I think I missed something. 😛 I recently joined the Navy so my last
six months or so has been a haze of training. Classes, and drills. 😛 I
think that I should get back in touch with reality.. Or at least what
gamers think of as reality, now that I have the chance. :)

Yeah, you could say you missed something.

The old WoD? Vampire: The Masquerade, Werewolf: The Apocalypse, and
Mage: The Ascension? It ended. They published a series of four
hardcovers, called Gehenna, Apocalypse, Ascension, and World of
Darkness: Time of Judgement (which covered Hunter, Demon, Changeling,
Mummy, and Kindred of the East). It's over and done with.

In August they're releasing a new WoD. August 21st will see the World
of Darkness Rulebook and Vampire: The Requiem. The former will be the
core mechanics and the rules for mortals, and the latter is the
expansion covering vampires. Then, in November, comes Werewolf: The
Forsaken. March of next year, we get Mage: The Awakening.

The new WoD is not connected to the old one, in terms of continuity. It
takes the core concept of "The real world, but with vampires,
werewolves, mages, and other various and sundey monsters" and re-writes
it, keeping some of the basic ideas (like clans, for instance) and
throwing out all the stuff that didn't work (like the presence of metaplot).

Wow. The idea of going into spells of torpor to reduce your blood's
"potency"... That sounds like it could be a brilliant game mechanic.

I actually have an old character concept (which, due to me moving and a
snafu with the Cam I never got to play) that might just work perfectly with
that aspect of the game.
