[citation][nom]magpc[/nom]Hope that it's not the hottest or loudest card on earth.or if so it would put the PCs on fire. an ATI owner, but supporter of the competiton between both.[/citation]

I want it to be the hottest, loudest and more power consuming card ever made. A dual die 500W 4connector version would be nice. I want POWER! This is high end gaming.

It's great to see nvidia putting out a new video card, they've been falling behind for a while now, and this thing beats the 5970 in DX10 titles, but the 5970 STILL kicks this card's trash in DX11 titles by a good margin. And if newegg is to be believed, you can lay hands on a 5970 these days for 500 smackers, whereas this 580 would cost you $560 dollars. There will be tons of people buying this card just for the nvidia name, after all you don't buy a ford when you like honda just cuz they have one model with slightly better gas mileage, but nvidia's rep can only take them so far. They need to put out a new series on the 32 nm manufacturing process NOW or they're gonna start losing momentum.

[citation][nom]TheRockMonsi[/nom]http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 80&x=0&y=0Newegg has the prices at $560 and up!!! Come on AMD, don't delay the 6900 cards and make us live with these NVIDIA-flated prices!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!![/citation]
yep... short supply. Those are some seriously inflated prices. However, this still doesn't change the fact that the MSRP is $499.99

Dude seriously? They have a review! They don't typiclay put the reviews in the news colum. Seriously is tha the only part of toms that you check? Go to their reviews section it's there top artical. Alos on the HOme page they have a large section and preview on the top left hand side. Get your facts before you make snide remarks.

Wow I knew something big would be brewing soon after the 400 series. Glad I didn't buy one. Still on my second PCI-E video card, the 260 core 216 and it works great. 32 frames per second in crysis works fine for now until these 500 series drop below 200 bucks ;) I know wishful thinking but hey all good things come to those who wait and I'm not much of a gamer these days anyway :)

by the time these 500 series drop below $200, the new 700 series will be out at $500 , and you will be salivating once more.

Which is true. The current price of the 470 is a decent deal too though. Just going to wait til I need an upgrade :)
