Hi again guys,

I have my cart at Newegg nicely filled with my future build's components when I noticed this:

I was waiting for the price drop on the intel chips. Does this seem like the timeto buy or is there something I don't know about the Q9550? I will not be overclocking.

Recall, this is the pretty decent build that will be passed on to my daughter and we will then build our i7 machine.

The Q9450 is probably being phased out. Pick up a Q9550 or a Q9650. Both work well and a mininal difference in performance if you do not plan on overclocking.

Intel has dropped the prices on their chips, I wouldn't think that the prices would drop anymore on the q9550. I would say now is the time to buy. Get the Q9550, or the Q9650 if you can afford it.
