sounds like the company might be run by a 15 year old scammer from his mum's basement.

what a complete and utterly un-professional way to behave, if this guy really has a wife I have to feel really really sorry for her.

Lol, has anyone seen the pictures of this thing? His 'slip resistant' padding is a crudely cut piece of table mat, pasted on the bottom.

Priceless. Lol.

[citation][nom]icepick314[/nom]but but but....the BBB only has ONE negative report.......just saying.....[/citation]

I know. By me.

While the first article was informative, the second was kind of amusing, this 'article' is just silly.
Does writing a whole article (which I skimmed very briefly), "proving" your side of the feud here really constitute "news"?
Not saying you can't do it, but I think the extended discussion belongs in the forum or something.

OMG!

Minimal waste and Green! Using Aluminum, recycled aluminum at that is nowhere near being green as an aluminum refinery literally uses an entire power plant all by itself just to melt the aluminum so it can be used.

Now that is one hell of a carbon foot print!

Using existing transportation infrastructure doesn't reduce the carbon foot print either.

Looks like FREE really likes to play with Words and put a spin on everything.

Well, these are serious accusations and offenses at TH in general. And besides, we want to not only go after big fish that are frauds, but little ones too, so that they don't eventually turn into big ones.

Yeah i saw this. So funny. And the picture before it, the mouse pad doesn't sit level...and hes an engineer...

Sounds like this guy can't run a business.

As a Canadian with some shipping experience I can say that shipping with Canada post to the USA via the cheapest method available can take 2-3 weeks. 2 weeks in Canada and roughly 1 week in the USA. This method is also not trackable. The tracking number that CP will give is more like a proof of shipment rather than a valid tracking number. Canada post has a division called Purolator that has trackable shipments like FedEx.

This info should be given to customers during checkout.

Piss poor customer service by Macpadd.

So what did we learn from all this kids?

1- Don't lie.
Free started this whole debacle by suggesting that the package had shipped. He could have fallen back to the 37 day thing and there would be no harm no foul.

2- Don't keep lying.
Free could have come back after being asked for a tracking number and claim that there was a mistake and the item had not yet shipped, but that the order was received and processed.

3- Don't be a douche on the phone.
The customer doesn't care that you are trying to slip the meat to your wife by first liquoring her up. If you're on your time, don't answer the phone. If you do answer the phone, it's your duty to be nice to the customer.

4- If you're going to be in the business of screwing customers with shady products, try not to attract TOO much attention.

BTW, the vast majority of the pics on his website are misleading; this thing has scam written all over it.

He isnt even using recycled Aluminum. He is claiming it is green solely on that Aluminum is recyleABLE.

Tuan, nice work. You kept it professional overall too...can't say the same about him though. I'm glad you came across him before more customer's did, you probably saved people some grief.

Thanks for your work exposing this fraudulent company. My clients will benefit from your experience.

Nice work, maybe a little obsessive, but we all tend to write A LOT when we're defending our reputations, I understand. Good work though!

As for his number being right there....there could be some fun to be had.

Haha yes. If you are jipping customers the ONE person you should send you product to is the THG writer which it clearly said in his signature of the emails....

I wouldn't have been professional, sorry. Nobody screws with my money. My typing? That's fine, flame me. My money? All bets are off. I rarely post comments here, but this guy is way out of line, and highly unprofessional.

I understand how you've already handled criticisms of this whole thing, but I find this all to be incredibly unprofessional. Do understand that's just my opinion, but it seems to me that this is like CNN running a report that their camera supplier screwed them. You wouldn't see it there, so I'm not sure why I'm seeing it here. This is a news and hardware site.

I appreciate the heads up on this company, but you know as well as I do that this is a personal thing and belongs on a personal blog like a national news outlet has. It's obvious we're all on your side with this, myself included, so I'm not sure why you feel that you need to defend yourself from his accusations.

We said it when another editor brought politics into the mess, so I'm saying it about high-school level drama: keep it away from the front page.
