I uninstalled gigabyte's oc guru software, and that fixed me up. I was using it to set the fan profile, but screw that.

I am now getting 75fps, 1875 score.

I'm thinking about building a cheap/free portable build out of parts I have already.

Here is what I've got:

phenom 2 x4 965 BE
Gigabyte 78-lmt-s2p
1x4gb, and 2x 2gb sticks 1600mhz RAM. Only have 2 slots so will probably use the 4gb and one 2gb stick for 6gb total
EVGA gtx650
CX600

Need: HDD. Probably will pick up a micerocenter refurb 250gb one for $20
Also need a TINY case. I have an NZXT Vulcan but I want the smallest mATX case that can fit a standard GPU that is as cheap as possible. (I'm talking CHEAP. Like off brand, low quality cheap)

I love the idea of using older parts to build something that works. Honestly, I really like using a system that is low/mid range and trying to get the most out of it. It is much more fun than just having some overkill thing that can max everything in my opinion. This is the basis for this project. I have my main system for hardcore gaming, but I like the idea of this little thing being able to hold its own.

Go for it indeed. I too believe it is not necessary to spend through the nose or have the latest and greatest in order to enjoy current games. I'm nowhere near as bad as Stick, but I've definitely bought upgrades I really didn't need.

The GTX650 is not capable of SLI, nor is the GTX650Ti or GTX750Ti.

Onus, I am looking for the smallest possible case that can handle a full size ATX PSU (cx600) and a standard width (non-low profile) GPU. The 650 I have is a shorty card but it uses a standard GPU bracket. It must also be mATX compatible.

If anyone has any ideas, let them fly. I am also open to a case with an included (non-ATX) PSU as long as it isn't awful. Something like Antec.

I love the idea of a slim DVD player style case but it seems that these do not fit my needs.

It also should be as cheap as possible.
