This is my current build. I, too, really enjoy cable management.

That Seagate may have annoyed you for the last time.

Boy what a day! I finally fixed my hard drive issue. It took so much trial and error.

1) First, I changed SATA power cable. Made no difference.
2) Then, I swapped SATA cables with the working hard drive. Then the working hard drive no longer worked, and the one that wasn't worked. So I thought, "Great! No hard drive is broken. Just a bad SATA cable."
3) changed "broken" SATA cable... Nope! Didn't work.
4) I figured it was the SATA header on the mobo that had to be broken, so I plugged it into a different header... Nope!
5) Tried another header... Nope!
6) Tried the other cable that I thought was broken again... Nope.
7) Tried a header that I knew was working, and then put that SATA cable into one of the ones that wasn't working with the fresh SATA cable (hope that makes sense)... Yes!

I honestly am so baffled as to what was still wrong. I honestly don't know, but my HDDs are both working properly now, so I'm just happy.

Tiny - Very nice! Honestly seeing your cable management, which is great, makes me feel so good because i barley had to manage any cables in the front part of my case due to the dual chamber design...its nearly seamless...without an effort lol. How are you feeling now? Almost 100% or does your ex-appendix area hurt? Hey man question...so like I said my bro got a new car. So im hoping my dad buys my other brother a car because I think Im going to get my brothers (one who has a new car) 2002 audi A4...I know..German, maintenanc ...premium gas, 100k+ miles...what do you think If I dont have to pay for anything thats awesome!!! Its a hand me down and I pay nothing!!

Anyway...ahhh...3 day weekend.

Thermal paste came in. Wonder how long 1.5 grams will last... Tempted to slap it on tomorrow if I can have atleast two uses...

So my friend bought a supercharged e46... it unfortunately has a rice pipe attached the the previous owner sold the original exhaust to pay for the new one(WHY)... the guy had another car, I think a jeep, that was totaled when parked, as someone crashed into it... I forgot to ask what happened to that guy as I think he said he got the license plate of the other person...

anyways... if I can get more than use out of the PK-1, I'll probably slap it in tomorrow since my temperatures are a wee bit too high... like 10C too high... even BiOS said it was 50 C :/

My idle is 50 C, that's why I ordered the new CPU cooler. It should be coming next Tuesday or Wednesday, but I don't think I will have time to install it since I have the SAT next weekend, Cyberpatriot next to next Friday, and the Acadec tournament the next day after that.... Trying to break past 1950, highest I've gotten...

1.5 grams should be about six or more paste jobs. You shouldn't really use more than about half a pea or #2 pencil eraser sized amount, pretty much regardless of brand. Liquid metal, diamond or specialized ceramics may have different application recommendations, but for most TIM that's how you want to do it. This guide, while not necessarily specific to your cooler, does show an accurate method for paste application in the application section.

Yeah, so I used a bit too much... Didn't expect the paste to flow out like that... size of two rice, side by side... Temps dropped by 5 C... I am basically waiting on the CPU cooler now...

Edit: Idle went back up to 51 again... I give up, gonna test load now
-Load dropped to 65 C instead of 71... That's an improvement.

I saw that with the no name stuff.

If your temps are fine I wouldn't bother.

My temps are actually very good with the small amount of paste I used. Under 100% load (opening a gigantic file in Movie Maker) temps hover around 50C. Then again, my I5-4460 doesn't get very hot, but I'm still quite impressed with how small amount of paste I used.

Onus, I just don't need it and can sell it to put some money back in my pocket or take my GF on a nice date or something. Or buy car parts.

The 3570k will go for $160 minimum. I have always been offered that on another site before I ever swapped it out for the Pentium. This one does 5ghz on air and is a very sought after batch number. I would like $120 for the board, but would do $260 for the pair shipped to the same place.

Sigh. Somebody always thinks "just a little bit more" will be better. It's not. It's just as bad as not enough. Not that YOU put too much, you might not have, because two rice grains, depending on how large your "rice grains" are, might be just about the same amount as a dry pea or half of a #2 pencil eraser, but it also might be more. Hard to say. What one person thinks is the same as a rice grain may not be the same as another person.

If you use a small "ball", about the size of half a #2 pencil eraser (Half of the part of the eraser you can see, not half of the whole eraser since part of it goes down into the metal at the end of the pencil.) dead center on your CPU lid, and have accurate mounting pressure, you should be fine in almost every case. Special compounds have differing application methods though so if you're using a liquid metal, diamond or ceramic compound, it might have a different application process.
