Just saw the RX 480 LinusTechTips video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2GdfDCq86Gk), and there's no DVI port so 144hz players are screwed and need to play at 60hz?

Solution

Yip! I am using a DP to DVI on a 144hz monitor, works perfectly fine.

Also supports it via HDMI

Theres 3 Displayport connections, all of which are fully capable.

I believe even a DP to DVI adaptor will still give you 144hz

That's a single link dvi adapter, for 144Hz you need a DP to dual link DVI adapter.

Mine is Excellent as well. I have an old system that has no problem with Ultra on new games now.

Yeah, their is a lot of hate at the moment due to people blasting AMD in general for coming up with numbers and presumptions, but it just has been released... Wait until the optimised drivers come out.. Give it a few weeks maybe a month it will be a heavy contender with the MId-High range of GPU's.

They have severally opened the market for the "You can make a gaming pc as the same price as the consoles these days" Line. Especially with the new consoles coming out. I can see more people moving over to PC for sure and hopefully making the community even better than it is at the moment.

Doesn't DVI-D mean DVI Dual link?

Hmm guess I'll have to use HDMI for now and search one for DVI-D Dual Link

Make sure your monitor supports 144Hz through HDMI. Many may have an HDMI port but will only do 60Hz with it. Infact can't say I have seen one that does, but I have never bothered looking real hard for one.

You know if the BenQ XL2411Z does support 144hz via HDMI?

It does not. Only the DVI-D port on that monitor supports 1080p @144Hz.
