Since the functionality is now working for me, i'll get right on it.

Which is best from:

Corsair RM 650W Fully Modular 80+ Gold Power Supply
or
Coolermaster VS-Series 650W Semi Modular 80+ Gold Power Supply

For a build with:
. Intel Core i7-4770K 3.5GHz Quad-Core Processor
. Asus Z97-PRO(Wi-Fi ac) ATX LGA1150 Motherboard
. Corsair Vengeance Pro 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3-1600 Memory

Either one is great. The Corsair one is just as silent as the Cooler Master model.

The Cooler Master V650 Semi-Modular (RS-650-AMAA-G1) has tighter voltage regulation, better electrical noise and ripple suppression, better hold-up time than the Corsair RM650.

There's no review yet. Therefore I cannot confirm if its a good unit, an average unit or a "get away from it" unit.

Tier 2 Class A. There almost as good as the Tier 1 units at lower prices.

I was surprised to find the Kingwin Lazer Platinum as a Tier one. I have had bad luck with other Kingwin products. Are their power supplies really that reliable?? Its just inside my budget and I was already looking at a Corsair CSM Series CS650M 650W. Would the Kingwin be that much better?

Which Kingwin PSU model specifically?

They don't actually make power supplies they have them made to their specs. They use Super Flower as their OEM exclusively and that is generally a good thing. The Lazer Platinum 550 you are looking at is an excellent unit. 9/10 from jonnyguru overall and the most important part of the scoring is performance where it scores a 10/10.

At $99 it's a unit worth considering for sure.

If you are in the US and looking for a ~550w unit for a good price then this Seasonic G 550w for $79 is the best deal I see. Saves you $20.

The G series is supposed to be a step down from the X series but in reality it's every bit as good with maybe a slightly lower end fan. Either way it gets a 9.2/10 from jonnyguru and that might have been a fluke since the 650w version scored a 9.8/10.

650w review.

yes thank you. I was looking at the Seasonic G earlier, I have that unit along with the Kingwin and a few others from the Tier One and Two lists sorted on my New Egg wish list. I really appreciate all the information and endorsements.

Hello. For an fx4300 and an hd7770, full specs in signature. Upgrading to an r9 280 or maxwell series gtx 860 later on. I am slowly upgrading and working towards a high end pc. For perspective I started with onboard graphics on a core 2 duo and a foxconn mobo. Right now have a cx430.

Which is best?
