Hi, I was wondering the reason my processor (AMD 8320) runs at 40 degrees Celsius while idle with a Corsair Water Cooler H110i. i think the problem is that the thermal paste i have on it now only has .925 W/mk. I just ordered a Arctic cooling MX-4 and it has 8.5 W/mK. I was wondering if that would make a big difference in temp ? Oh and my pc case is the air 540

Did you just install the cooler? There is a break in period where the thermal compound needs to break in.

Also did you apply the thermal compound in accordance with the thermal compound manufacturers instructions?

I put new thermal paste on it 1 day ago. i think it may have something to do with the W/mk too.

It can but honestly I have ran that processor with the cheap thermal paste included with the processor and the stock heatsink and have gotten better temps than that. Make sure you're reading the core temp and not the socket temp as well, the socket temp will usually read higher than the actual core temp with most motherboards sensors. This is especially true when using a liquid cooling setup as hot air gets trapped behind the mobo giving you high readings on the socket temp.
