WHen I was removeing my cpu cooler as I orinted it the wrong way so when I was takeing out the cooler pulled the cpu with it and thermal paste got all over the pins and the cpu socket. I'll add some picture when I get home. How do you think I can get rid of this and clean it up. There isnt too much thermal paste though its only on liek 5 pins at the edge

We're going to need to see the extent of the mishap. Host your images on a site akin to Imgur then pass on a link for us to see. What processor are you dealing with?

thermal paste got all over the pins and the cpu socket.
So long as you didn't use trash thermal paste, you shouldn't have anything to worry about. If it's under the CPU(on the pins) you can remove them with some isopropyl alcohol and a toothbrush but be careful not to bend any pins on the CPU. If it got onto a socket, leave it be.

I tried it in a socket earlier but the back woudnt go in unless a pushed it down a bit, and when I examined it there were no bent pins at all

Hose it down with electronics contact cleaner aerosol spray, which should dissolve it without having to touch the delicate pins. Be aware you'll have to use a lot of it with the board held vertically so the dissolved residue will run off the edge of the board.

If you have an autoparts store nearby, MAF cleaner is pretty much the same thing. Do not attempt to use something stronger like brake cleaner as that can dissolve plastics too.
