If the cooler already comes with thermal paste pre-applied you dont need to but when you need to change it you'll need to buy a tube yourself. So, I just need to buy the CPU, buy the paste, and follow the instructions?
I need to "BUY" a thermal paste, right?
What do you mean? If you are taking about applying it then just put between a large rice grain and pea sized amount on the middle of the CPUs heat spreader then put the cooler on.
However many cooler already have pasted applied to them so just be sure to remove any plastic film if that's the case
Most coolers come with it and instructions--just follow those and you'll be good.
