If you want to improve the perfomance of your volcano 7+
buy a volcano 11 put the heatsink aside as it is only soldered fins (the volcano 7+ is skived ie one piece of copper). Then mount the fan and support that came with the volcano 11 onto the heatsink of the volcano 7+
(the holes even line up) and you have a heatsink that comes close to the thermalright slk-800.
Just try it and let me know.

The volcano 11 is MUCH heavier then the volcano 7+, almost twice as heavy. Also, soldered fins pretty much dont lose any performance as the contact is still perfect. The volcano 11+ always wins, even if the 7 has a fat fan

I would NOT buy a volcano 11 (due to lack of *positive* reviews for this product, nor a 7+, cause you can buy a much better HSF for the price.

the only better ones I know of are the Alpha, the slk800/900 & poss ther Aero 7... all more expensive where I am than the Tt V11...

Trust me I know what I'm doing... ooops, grab the cat...

Agreed. My Volcano 7 has been running on some moderately overclocked systems and I've yet to see the CPU temps get over 48 degrees under any load.
