I built my current rig in...2001 or so...Still strong enough, but an upgrade is definitely on the horizon.

I'm sure it's fine. I went from a 1 Ghz Tbird to a 2400+ Tbred to a 3200+ A64 Winchester and to be honest there really isn't that much of a difference unless you're doing something like encoding. I just upgraded so that I wouldn't be bottlenecked in games.

Same here. I upgraded to 2400+ from Duron 1 GHz, and it makes difference only in apps that can use the extra speed.

I can't believe that I've been not folding for a month and I'm still ranking so highly. :\

Anywho, can anyone remind me of the bugs that kept me from wanting to use the GUI F@H client and if those bugs still exist. (And/or if there's a way to make the console/service version run only during the screen-saver, since I'm tired of F@H screwing up my gaming.)<pre> ∩_∩

Cedrik - You need to tell Silver to use scripting to automate that. One link that turns off F@H, loads the game and turns on F@H when the game exits.

PS: 'Back in the day' 😎 that's how everything was done - batch files to load/unload whatever is needed for a program before/after the program.

It's too bad that I can't write a batch file into the screen saver that way. :\ It'd be great if the screen saver itself turned F@H on and off. (Or if F@H were smart enough to poll Windows for when the screen saver is active.)

hey guys i just started folding i keep getting big ass cores after i got my first 600 core i then went on straight to a 3000 core thingy or something like that if i saw correctly, i got a amd 3000 754 with 1gb ram running 24/7 so hopefully it will help =P
i will also leave my gaming comp on overnight and thats about all i got to say for now so good luck all =]
