Too bad I'm back down to just my main rig. 🙁 My wife's laptop had the hard drive die (for the second time, damn cheap-arse warranty replacements) so it's off line until I get a new hard drive in and restored from the latest backup. (Since it's not under warranty anymore, this time I'll buy a dependable drive for her.) And my sysadmin seems to have blocked F@H at work.

So long as you don't get in trouble for it. I'm a little worried about Stefan...I know he had been using work comps...

Nah. No worries. I was really only testing it there to see if it could be done anyway, because I'm trying to push that the workplace give something back to the academic and scientific communities. I just wanted to see if our network could run it. I think in the end it could, but then it probably got added to a spyware block list or something goofy. :\

Seems like there was some friction with Stefan in the OTHER, but I may be wrong and that may not have anything to do with his folding.

Hi Guys,

Thought I'd check up on the progress and low and behold were almost there. Tell the truth I'm a bit shocked it is so imminent!!!

Should omeone start up a countdown thread. What do you think?

101 and counting!!! (Sounds like the Disney production).
Countdown 101 !!! (Sounds like a class...hmm).

Are we going to count it in top 100 if we're at 100 or at 99?

KEEP FOLDING!!!

Flinx

P.S. You guys are terrific to have kept this up so long without support!

P.P.S. The temperature is starting to drop and I'm thinking of turning on another machine soon.

The loving are the daring!

FlinX!! WB!

Long time no post. Good to cya back!

That would be pretty cool...I have no idea though.

Some of that was over my head, but I think that I get the general picture. If Crossfire will run it then sometime in Nov. I should be ready to go. Im jusst waiting on ATI to unleash the X1800 XT.

What happened to your rig? Did it fail when updating the BIOS?

No its weird...it finished just fine...no errors or loss of power during the install...I used several of the suggested switches, and double checked with the tech to make sure they were ok. He verified they were. When it rebooted (/r), it was dead. =/ Never had that happen before. I've flashed a fairly good amount of computers without any troubles...

Oh well...so now i wait...I've got a backup computer or 3, so i'm not really that worried about it...just the backups don't have nearly the power...going from an x2 with sli to a 2500 and a 9800. And i've got that 3000 sitting around collecting dust... As soon as that expert board comes out, i'll remedy that situation. If my psu will handle it anyway... I've been looking around, and it requires 4-phase power...And supposedly the Whisper II is one of the few out there capable of that (through mix and matching cables...), but one of the ends that i need i'm not finding. So i may just go with a dfi ut sli of some flavour or another. Sounds like i'll have my hands full no matter how i go with dfi...the memory controls are crazy.

Quick question to anyone not just ape, any clue why I only get small pointer WU's since im running the console version? When the prompt asked me receive Large Wu's blah blah I said yes and im still getting 40 pointers and such... Any clu or conf filemodification!?
Thansk in advance

I keep seeing the DFI boards in the leader positions in alot of benchmarks. From what ive heard they are the best OCers but can be finiky. BTW, im not up to speed on DDR but the OC mem of choice is no longer in production. Mushkin uses it in their Redline Mem. Newegg still had some yesterday so if anyone was thinking about buying, its now or never.

Honestly...i get the same thing...

I've got 18 computers...i think about 6 of those get large WU's somewhat consistantly...All but 4 or 5 of those are set to use large wu's. My AMD processors get large Wu's less often then say my P4's do. However, the computer i'm on now, a P4 1.3 gets them about as often as my 2500+ and 2400+ at home (1 every 7-8 WUs maybe...i used to get them more often).

I think it's partly because the large WU's are better designed to work with the P4's instruction sets (or something like that...). I'm sure part of it stems from the performance rating it gives (benchmark...) each computer, as well as possibly how quickly it gets the results back to the servers (which maybe affects what kind of WU's we get int he future?).

There's my 2 bits...

What are the redline modules? I know they've done well in the past...but only at high v 3.2+...

The TCCD ram is still available (maybe not being created...but is still readily available). Patriot just came out with a 700 module...(which got bad reviews because really it's exactly the same chip as the cheaper versions just binned a little higher (binned higher...you know what i mean =)); not necessarily to 700 but close...). The Patriot Xblk 400 and 600 are the same stuff, the 600...bleh u know how the binning works...some will go a little higher then others.

That aught to be high enough for most people. TCCD ram seems to be best only at really high fsb *and low v (2.9 max)*...Whereas the bh-5 and varients can hold lower timings to higher speeds with more voltage, but top out sooner. (correct me if i'm wrong here...I haven't kept up on the ram wars as well as i did in the past...)
