Great! Hopefully that isn't just some 386 that is getting its first fold done that he started 8 months ago. =)

w00t!!
look @ our daily output today!!
sjonnie!! w00t!! R U doing???
one: you have hit 700K which is an awesome achievment as such
two: you have managed to send in 14K in the two days of this week alone
three: 9K just 2day which puts our teams daily output as of 12pm a whopping 32K!! @NOON!!
wow! what a day! 2 new users, too! Hi there!! cheers!

yes, must be their server...
for my part, I certainly didn't send 3.5K just 2day! I don't know, where those numbers come from! -- remember, because of my FW-problem@work, I send most of the results manually and those I've sent today are not due until the next update!!
strange.. - but we're at position 105!! now the top 100 definitly look like a realistic target!

[etit]: ok, my update came early, so the numbers could be correct...
Edited by stefan on 08/23/05 01:30 AM.

There is a thread at the F@H forum, with a few added posts, that may explain the extra points. Not sure if you can coat tail on my log-in, so
We have developed a way to efficiently test to see whether a WU has been credited and are running a stats update with this tool. WUs which haven't been credited in the past for some issue will likely be credited in this upcoming pass. We have a long list of WUs from the past which were potentially not credited due to one issue or another. Since many checks must be made during this process (in order to not to double credit), this process is very slow and may take 1-3 days to complete.

The stats will be slow during this process and stats updates may occur at unusual times.

🙂
thanx for the link!
so this means, today we're bound to see a higher output as well! cool!
[edit]: on the negative side: it might have been an old WU of Flinx that I saw and he's not really back online...

Edited by stefan on 08/23/05 09:03 AM.

Heh! Looks cool huh? The reality however is that stanford are awarding points for WUs previously sent in but which, for some reason or another, were not awarded points. So basically it's points for work already done, something like a tax rebate - lol. Everyone will be getting them so averages are likely to look screwey for a week or so.

Sorry, but I'm not able to complete 86 units/day. Not sure how many processors I'd need to do that!

Hi Guys,

Glad you found me Stephan! That molecule finally posted.

Hi "cdpage". Yep its me. Endyen had it right.. Xnilf is Flinx backwards.

How are the rest of you doing? Had a great summer?

You guys sure have a lot of grit. Takes determination to keep the points rolling in when progress is so seemingly slow. I'm sad I couldn't be part of all of the effort.

Been away on business for a couple months. Also the hot summer keeps me from running full blast. The evenings have cooled down and I've put a XP2500 to folding pretty much 24/7. I'll add more machines as the temperature drops.

Anybody know how long the team has been together? When this all started? I know we really took off last Nov/Dec when we got below the top 1000. Probably our first anniversary is just around the corner.

We need to put beer money away for the comming celebrations.. Anniversary.. Anniversary of Top 1000.. and breaking 100.

Nice to see you all the new people and all the old ones too. Great work everyone.

Flinx

!!!! GO TEAM GO !!!

The loving are the daring!

...there are 5 teams currently trying to take us over.

For that matter, anyone know how to change the port? At work port 8080 is the ISA firewall server. So until work units can traverse a different port, I can't even remotely try to convince my workplace to support F@H.

Here is the list of servers and their current status and yes 171.64.122.143 is currently down. Specific WUs have to be sent back to the server they came from, so you'll have to wait for it to come back up before you can send them in. In the meantime the program should be able to receive more WUs from a different server.

You should be able to use port:80.
I've heard that before, and tried it before, and unless the software has changed any, nope. It still requires port 8080 too. Is there a new version of the software that actually fixes this?

First of all: Hi there and welcome back Flinx!
We sure should try to come together to celebrate all these anniversaries.. - you heard about google-talk? Since most of us have a google-account  , it should be easy to get together there!
and slvr_phoenix: in your F@H-Directory there is a file named "client.cfg". You can edit this file by simply dragging / dropping it on an editor, or whatever. In the famous texteditor "notepad.exe" the file doesnt look to nice, but if you really look closely, you should find an entry:
port=8080
in between those funny "[]" signs, I cant reproduce here...
try edit the portnumber to whatever you desire, start F@H and look what happens! (havent tried this yet..) - cheers!

It might be easier to use the graphical client. That way you can use ie settings.
You can use IE settings in the console version too. But that doesn't change the simple problem that if your ISA firewall is on port 8080 then when F@H tries to communicate on port 8080, those communications go to the ISA server (and thusly go nowhere) instead of to the WWW. 🙁

Tried that a long time ago. F@H still tried to use port 8080 for some things though, which rendered it useless. 🙁 But maybe that's changed by now. I'll try the latest version and see if that's been fixed. :)

Okay. That's weird. It looks like the exact same version number, but this time it's working! :O (At least so far. We'll see how well it does when it goes to send the completed WU.)

Actually, I wonder... None of our Windows Updates were working because the ISA firewall was blocking all anonymous connections. (We only learned that recently. Goodness knows how behind our PCs were on updates!) So now our ISA firewall allows anonymous connections. I wonder if F@H was using anonymous connections too, and it wasn't that it was a port 8080 conflict, but a firewall blocking anony problem...

Ve shall see vat 'appens. :O

blocking all anonymous connections
yep! that's what I learned is the problem with my firewall @ work!! this is why I can collect WU's but have to send them back vía an awkward and slightly illegal tunneling technology which I have to do manually! :^(

We are really close to breaking the top 100. I think we are at 106. If some of the members that havent folded in awhile would start folding again we could do this in no time.
