I've tried to run folding @ home but my cpu is 55C idle and goes to 72C with Folding and I dont trust it.

yes the one with an asus mobo and non exsistant apg slot. It was free so dont yell at me LOL.

My client.cfg file looks like this:
[settings]
username=Huh
team=40051
asknet=no
bigpackets=yes
machineid=1
local=107

[http]
active=no
host=localhost
port=8080
usereg=no
It does not have this line in it like your does.
[clienttype]
type=1
Does that matter? I see two services running for F@H so it looks like it is working fine.

I will check the logs to make sure it is working properly.

Thanks for your help.

congrats on hitting the red again!!
I'm taking a breath... err..
It's been a long steep climb to Sparky's score and now you're taking of again! ;D
I'm still hesitating to heat my living room with Athlon-Power-Now!
edit: of course I'm heating it with an intel-celeron M, just to make sure the electro-magnetic smog of my wireless LAN isn't here for nothing..

Sorry if I let you guys down, I did some upgrade on my PC and for some reason I got lazy and took me a month before I start folding :redface: ...
Now im back with around 300 points a day, we have to get the hype of folding back!!!

Asus P4P800DX, P4C 2.6ghz@3.25ghz, 2X512 OCZ PC4000 3-4-4-8, MSI 6800Ultra stock, 2X30gig Raid0

You know what...i had two cpu's that had gotten bogged down...they were stuck on a fold...who knows how long. Then i had my main home machine...and i turn off f@h to play games on it, but i forget to turn it back on half the time, so suddenly i have like 2 1/2 more computers...that's the only difference. I've just been too busy to fool with my home machine...been getting home around 9...bleh.

Long Live the Quest for Flinx the Folder...

I heard a rumor that Flinx was captured by space aliens that wanted Flinx's folding computers, and when he said no...they destroyed all his computers or something and wiped his memory of f@h entirely. We have to find him and save him! <puts down crack pipe>

maybe it's them pholding phreaks ahead of us, stealing points of our workunits!??
or maybe your resultfile was so seriously corrupted that the stanford-guys thought: well, we'll take of a point of this bloke, can you believe this, a netsky.b in _our_ result-file...
;-)

that can happen when your wu are corrupted and the client send it early, you get only a little point (10-20pts iirc). but you have the backup and don't realize that your wu failed and continue folding from the backup. when the result (from the backup) are sent, instead of getting a full points, you got -1, because stanford think you are cheatting..

well that was what happened to me once 😀

<b>Pickxx</b>... you still playing games? you you need 9 points for the 5000 mark.

im going to be away often over the next few weeks so my production is going slow up for a bit.

Sweeet. I've been doing this now for..a bout two months

Runnin it on 3 active processors ,a dual XEON and a P4 2.8. the p4 thouhg is off nightly and restarts automatically at 7am. the Xeon's are on 24/7 as a / database server. but the database and web server use maybe 2% of the resources on this machine so it gets a lot of folding time.

I've hit 104 as of this morning with 13324. I'm 43046 ranked overal 😀 and 43rd of Toms community

I'm so proud of myself... i've done nothing 😛

when i get home, i'll be adding folding to my new Athlon64 3700+

thats awsome pmasternak keep it up! and now your adding a new machine to your list... Add anoter machine to your list an you could be looking at top 10... well maybe in a year 😛

I picked up a new Core today... Amber

Working on:

AMBER core

500 Frames:

It says its going to take me 5 days.... and its only 130 points.

I read up on these and it said that they are much faster... who are they kidding?

I finished an amber core on one of my A64s last night.
It only took 3 hours. Problem was, it only gave 19 points. I've had one running on another A64 (off 12 hours/day) for 5 days. It's only worth 278. My lone P4 is running one as well It will take 4 days, to get the 69 points.
I dont like the 1800s.
me.
