oh yea? so they don't realy need them anymore?
i just managed to get a strangler?

hmm... kinda sux... I mean SWEET! i got big points... but for what cause?
I guess it still goes to a database of sorts.

They only give out "x" number of each unit. Once they are all given out, they take the WU off the chart. They still need your WU. They are sweet though. My A64 can do one in 23 hours, while most of the 241 pointers take over 24. Not to worry, they may call them 1478s, but they will be back.

sjonnie, looks like if you keep this pace, you'll be in the top 600 in a week, the top 500 in a month :)

im not sure why my machine had so much trouble with it then. some some frames were more then 50 min, while others were 24.

took me a almost three days i think.

w00t!!!!
you should check now, apesoccer!!
you've got 200K exactly!!
I think maybe you're doing the same Sparky did a while back when he met 100K exactly!??! 😉)
Did he send you that cheat?? I want it, too! *lol*
CONGRATS!!! cheers

What you need to do is have 2 or more instances of F@H running.

Assuming you are running the "invisible" console version:
You can do this by making a copy of the F@H directory and running "fah502-console -configonly" and setting the machine ID to 2. This should use the second CPU

Systems Running F@H:
AMD: [A64 3200+] [XP2800+ x2]
Intel: [P4 3.0] [P4 2.8 x4] [P4 2.0] [P4 1.8] [P4 1.7] [P4 1.6 x2] [P4 1.4M] [Xeon 1.0] [Cel 1.0] [P3 ??] [P3 500]

run 4 instance =)
let me guess you have a Dual Xeon with HT enable.
Easiest way to max it out in this case is to turn HT off

Asus P4P800DX, P4C 2.6ghz@3.25ghz, 2X512 OCZ PC4000 3-4-4-8, Leadtek FX5900 w/ FX5950U bios@500/1000, 2X30gig Raid0

yup, thats exactly it. HT enabled on it.

i'm going to leave it on, cause i'm using the System as a APACHE server for about 20 users..

TONS of idle CPU, but i do often need the additional threads i find

Yeah, thats normal. To totally max out production, you would need to have 4 instances of F@H running. Each instance will use all available CPU power on the specified CPU. Assuming you have the HT enabled Xeon, F@H thinks you have "4" CPUs.

Systems Running F@H:
AMD: [A64 3200+] [XP2800+ x2]
Intel: [P4 3.0] [P4 2.8 x4] [P4 2.0] [P4 1.8] [P4 1.7] [P4 1.6 x2] [P4 1.4M] [Xeon 1.0] [Cel 1.0] [P3 ??] [P3 500]

I became the first single rig folder to hit 20K!

For you my friend, I will make a note on the Toms Hardware Guide Community Folding@Home Team page to that effect

[edit]After carefully checking the Stanford website THGC team states, it appears that there are two single rig folders above you, Jammydodger and Skaarj. Sorry, but in good concience I couldn't make special note when in fact you aren't. [edit]

Systems Running F@H:
AMD: [A64 3200+] [XP2800+ x2]
Intel: [P4 3.0] [P4 2.8 x4] [P4 2.0] [P4 1.8] [P4 1.7] [P4 1.6 x2] [P4 1.4M] [Xeon 1.0] [Cel 1.0] [P3 ??] [P3 500]
Edited by sparky853 on 06/16/05 01:56 PM.

I think they weren't always single rig folder. I never used more than 1 CPU.

Edit: From looking at Jammydodger and skaarj's F@H page at Extreme Overclocking, it seems that skaarj indeed used more than one CPU. However Jammy might've been single rigger all the time, maybe you should just PM/e-mail him to know the real fact.

Jammydodger
skaarj

Even if Jammy is indeed the first single rigger to hit 20K, I still can be the FASTEST single rigger to hit 20K

you could be right...I'm going by the "Number of Processors in the Last 50 Days"

Systems Running F@H:
AMD: [A64 3200+] [XP2800+ x2]
Intel: [P4 3.0] [P4 2.8 x4] [P4 2.0] [P4 1.8] [P4 1.7] [P4 1.6 x2] [P4 1.4M] [Xeon 1.0] [Cel 1.0] [P3 ??] [P3 500]

When you and I passed Jammy, he was using only 3 processors, but had 6 in use at one point. Spitfire is indeed the first single rig folder to 20K.
me
BTW does anyone know what's happened to Flinx? He said he'd be away for a couple of weeks. That was over a month ago.
Flinx where ever you are we need you.

Seeing as how the general concensus is that you are indeed the highest ranked single rig folder, I made a nice note under todays update to that effect. Congrats.

Systems Running F@H:
AMD: [A64 3200+] [XP2800+ x2]
Intel: [P4 3.0] [P4 2.8 x4] [P4 2.0] [P4 1.8] [P4 1.7] [P4 1.6 x2] [P4 1.4M] [Xeon 1.0] [Cel 1.0] [P3 ??] [P3 500]

Thank you, and congrats on the twenty K .
You deserve a lot of credit for all that you've added to these forums. You are a good man, and a great team player.
I'm sure this golden handshake is just what you always wanted.

okay..okay...enough for now! keep something reserve for bigger landmarks

and another one:
Congratulations sjonnie!!
for reaching 500.000 points which is nearly 20% of our teams total points!!
Thanx sjonnie!
(btw: I think, its strange that the EOC-people don't have a milestone for this kind of achievement! Or do the milestones only go as far as 200K points as a rule?) cheers!

(edit): Oh, and on a more negative side: We've just been overtaken by those "mozillazine"-people!
Edited by stefan on 06/28/05 09:20 PM.
