LOL yea why don't you guys tell them to hit ALT+F4 while they are at it :)

That's a great cheat code to encourage any opponent to use while playing a game online. 😀

Yeah, we have a few, and will be getting more shortly. Right now we have:

1 Sempron 64 2600+(1.6)@2.1 My personal machine, does the 2106 5 ways in 46 hours
2 Dell GX260's (2.0) p4
1 Dell GX280 (2.6) p4
1 Dell GX150 (1.2) p3
1 Dell GX110 (700) p3
1 Latitude CPx (700) p3 1152 in about 7.5 days
1 Latitude c610 (1.2) p3
1 Latitude c640 (2.0) p4m
1 latitude d800 (1.6) pentium m

For a total of @ 16.1 Ghz. We will probably be adding several more of the slower machines here soon.

I've been a member of the team for just over a week now

I lied. Today is my 1 week anniversary with the team. Didn't break top 100 in the first week, but I came close. 😀 107 as I post this. I was also looking at the ExtremeOverclocking Team Stats page, and noticed I'm currently #7 in 24 hour average production. Can't wait till my average catches up with my active machines. Hehe.

LMAO, i wonder where you learnt that? 😛

anyway.... Team latvia is ours.....3.8 hours

position 89, here we come (for a hours....Russia's got a few hours to take us over (17.1))

well I'm doing my part lol, I've been folding with an xp2600+ running at 200FSB x 11. Just put together another system yesterday and started it folding as well, xp 2800+mobile currently at 203FSB x 11 occt, and prime stable. Not a bad oc considering It's only been up and running 24 ours 😀

Chugging along here too. but im not seeing any of these massive WU jobs everyone else is.
All my reports say 20-30 WU when stuff is sent to the server. On the other hand they dont take any 3-7 days to complete.

Ive seen several people ask this before -- but how do I get the mongo WU jobs? .. other than turning on large packets.

Whether or not you get the larger WUs is dependant on 3 things:

1) Large WU enabled
2) Optimized Code enabled
3) Machine benchmark score

Of course, it's also determined by Stanford's project assignments, as well. Sometimes there just aren't any good WUs being handed out, while they try to get the, shall we say, less popular projects finished.

Hope this helps.

doesn't matter how popular they are... it's all for a good cause...

(Thank you stanford for allowing me to help others)

I just set F@H up on my 2 machines. Will I be able to notice a performance difference?

I am running a P4 2.53 and an ancient Athlon 900 I built my freshman year of college. The 900 pulled one of the 400 frame tinker cores, sometime late next week it may finish  .

Good thing my roomate is paying the power bill  .

Anyway this ought to be fun.

I dont know that the 900 will be running 24/7 though, one if its fan bearings is on it way out and it can be obnoxiously loud.

:trophy: Welcome bb1 :trophy:

No, you should notice no difference at all if you are running the console version. There are a few issues with the graphical version and some games.

is there any way we can get rid of inactive users (of course allowing them to join later if they decide to re-start folding) so that we can see our actual rank within the team. (would help a lot)

or would that cause us to lose all they have contributed...?

Ara

There isn't any way to get rid of the inactive users. It is controlled by Stanford. It would be unfair to those who put in the processor time to dump them off the ranks just because they haven't been active.

I have a different question. Does anyone know if there's some place out there where I can see which processors have been active and which haven't for my account? I'm missing like 6 and I don't know where they are. Also it would be cool to see how many WU's each different processor has cranked out.

If you want to see your team rank w/o all the inactive users go to THIS site and on the left hand side you can set the filter to active users only. Of course, like EntityAnomly said, we can't actually get rid of them, but checking out that site will let you know your rank among the team of active users.

Well i've been on this damned Gromcas core for 2 days + and its only getting me 200 points... such a slap in the face. I need to find more active procs. I might slip it on to my friends computer.

And to bb1 @about performance; I put it on my parents computer (2 instances due to HT) and no one in the house has noticed a thing. F@H service keep chugging along while they do their work, its transparent.

If I could only obtain admin privledges to my roaming profile at Baylor lol.

...I'm missing like 6 and I don't know where they are...
8O you mean, like physically??
as I'm still to lazy to check out this EMIII tool or the likes, I can do nothing but point you to the old fashioned method of going there, checking the log and if you're really interested in the whole history of this clients work be sure to rename the "FAHlog-Prev.txt"-file to something like "FAHlog-Prev1.txt" as the older "FAHlog-Prev.txt"'s are always overwritten. The "FAHlog.txt"-file is written to the "FAHlog-Prev.txt" after exeeding a filesize of 50KBytes. This is only done upon a restart of the client of course! (my biggest "FAHlog.txt" was more than 1MB, btw!) :)

lol no not physically, but I have several different buildings that have a fah machines and I don't feel like physically running around to all of them to check and see if they are all "OK". It would be like never ending babysitting. Thought maybe there would be a way to check which Procs have checked in lately so I can just go check on the ones that haven't reported lately. Too bad they aren't all on the same network.

I want to install folding on two or three of my work computers but I don't want the users to see it or be able to play around with it. I don't think the graphical client is the right choice but have no clue how to setup the console client.

Anyone care to give me a small tutorial. All I want to do is install it, have it for me and the team, and large work units.

It's cake. Download the console version and stick in a folder somewhere (doesn't matter in the least where). Then run the console.exe file and a command line interface will pop up and run you through the setup. It will go option by option allowing you to edit anything you want. THe key, if you dont want users to see it, is to install it as a service. Then it will only appear in the task manager. The first time it will launch the command line window, but just kill it, run over to services in the admin folder and find Folding@Home and click start service.

Here's my config file for my desktop:

ok! but you could try to make a share out of the folding-folder and try to connect to the network (I dont know; I use ssh but you could use ftp or anything) and check the logs "manually" this way...

WOW thats retarded. I had a 202 pointer at 96% when I was forced to restart my system, guess what it lost all progress even though the write interval was 5 minutes, anyone seen that happen?
