Am I the only one that gets a zoomed picture on this instead of Vid? 31 Seconds... thats a good take.

It's just a bunch of thugs, The guard let them do it, perhaps he was in on it. Throw a large heavy chunk of cement/porcelain through the window and snag everything. Not exactly crime of the century....

That's a really good haul. 23 Macbook Pro's, 14 iPhones, and 9 iPod touches? They probably ran out of that store with $40,000+ in loot and it only took them 31 seconds. They planned that pretty well. Knew to wear masks, which machines to take, where the security guard would be, and the quickest way to get in and out.

yeah but this way they didn't get tripped up tiring to unplug all the power blocks from the laptops.

The video kept saying they are pros...
Hardly more like they are one of the few criminals that had a game plan and took protection against the obvious like all wearing sweaters and masks with hoods and gloves to conceal every bit of their identity from the cameras.

Also really that store had only plate glass windows when it closed, it's a mall and it doesn't at least have gates that go down.

That place must be really trusting nothing was tethered down in anyways even after closing?!? Must be against the apple look can't harsh their vibe.
 
I don't think the guard let them do it, he just didn't stop them. When it boils down to it the security guard at a place like this is a deterrent, he/she isn't the police. At a jewelry store the guy is armed and will shoot your ass but at a place like an Apple store he isn't going to do much. The video said they motioned that they were armed so if I am the security guard I'm not risking my life to protect some merchandise, not when I'm outnumbered five to one and they might be armed. No way.

But then if you did get involved and got killed your next of kin may get a new ipod touch and a form saying that they couldn't discuss the situation without penalty of being sued in court.

when I read the article I thought they meant they only took maglite adapters I was like that's hilarious that's like a little kid stealing gum...but then they took more than that so they'll probably get more serious charges.
thinking about it...it should be interesting how they plan to sell the stuff and not get caught I mean...iphones have tracking and I'm unfamilar with the rest. I guess they'll lay low for a while certainly can sell off craigslist/ebay...and I'm not sure it's safe for them to personally use. personally I like the macbook air more but it's not worth as much. I bet they weren't armed because they left so quickly. though it is not the job of the mall guard to risk his life to save macbooks...now if they were pcs....haha j/k

It'll be funny to see how many of those macs had in-store activated .mac accounts and if they might be traced.

Either way, every pawn shop in a several state area will be notified of every missing serial number. Without power adapters, these things are hard to pawn anyway.

I'll keep reading to see if they get nabbed in the next few days.
 
Apple robs people all day long, I can't be arsed to feel sorry for them TBH

Guards are told not to stop anyone that would be able to overpower them. If someone pulls a knife and you can't defend against it, they would rather just pay for the item(s)stolen, then the item(s) plus your hospital bill.
 
They should know the serial no's for all products stolen, and when people go to register, they can be denied or tracked that way perhaps. I just feel bad for anyone who might buy one of these stolen devices.
 
I'm also amazed it took the security guard 31 seconds to check after the glass door breaks. Also, was there alarm when the glass door breaks? It should have taken him 5 seconds to check, instead of 31. He could be in this robbery.

They could easily wipe the hard drives and re-install the OS then sell them on craigslist in any city across America. You can get a magsafe adapter anywhere because they are all (almost) the same. Don't know if these crooks are intelligent enough to do that though.
