Hi everyone,

I just bought a Lenovo ThinkBook 16 Gen 7 with Ryzen 7 7735HS, 32GB RAM and 1TB SSD, but I noticed that the performance is not what I expected from a new PC with these specifications.

The main problem is that opening folders, windows and programs of daily use is not immediate. It is not very slow, but there is always a small delay that I do not consider normal.

Also, I noticed that sometimes the touchpad does not register the click, especially when I tap for the left click (without using the physical buttons). I have to try again several times or use the physical buttons.

Should I return the laptop or is there a way to fix the problem?

Welcome to the forums, newcomer!

You might want to try and see if the laptop is pending any BIOS updates. Use the support page and the serial number for your laptop to bring up a bespoke page for your laptop. If the BIOS update doesn't change anything, see if your OS is pending any updates. If that doesn't help, you might want to see if reinstalling the chipset drivers helps.

If all of the above doesn't help, you can try and reinstall the OS, after recreating the bootable USB installer for your OS to later install the OS in offline mode. Speaking of OSes, what OS are you working with? Windows 11?
