Thinking about O.C./updating 3 yr old PC

Current rig:
i7 930 2.8ghz stock fan
Asus P6X58D-E mobo
Nvidia GTX 470 1.2ghz
8 ghz DDR3 1600 ram
Corsair 750W PSU
1 TB WD Black

I'm currently playing BF3 and want a little more performance. Budget is < $200. Any recommendations?

if bf3 is cpu intensive then overclock it if you have a decent cooler

got an i7-920 in second pc at 4ghz

still decent by todays standards

For less than $200, you cannot improve much, i would save for more.

Yeah, I was hoping to spring for a hd 7850 2ghz cause I know that would make a huge difference. Money is an issue at the moment. I'll just save and wait. I was thinking of buying a nice CPU cooler and O.C'ing the i7.

Honestly, I would only get the 2GB version if i had a monitor with more than 1080p resolution, but anyway the 7850 seems like a good choice for that budget.

See where that puts you. If you still want more performance, get the 7850 and sell your old GTX 470 on eBay. The total cost to you should be around $150.
