As right now I'm rockin the AMD fx-6350 six core 3.9 GHz. I've been playing a lot games that are really cpu heavy and my fx-6350 just isn't doing the job. I'm been thinking about trying out a intel cpu. What do you guys think?
You need 8gb of ram total, and unpark your cores, and get a better PSU like even a cheapish corsair builder, or xfx core edition 550w or so and your experience should improve, I don't think that motherboard is very good for overclocking at all if I remember right, that's one of those cheap 970 mobos with sucky power phase and no VRM heatsinks
But he has a 32-bits legit windows. If he's willing to get a pirate hat, then all good.
I'd say first unpark cores and see the results, then get a x64 Windows and try to get the additional RAM. If still needed, then a new PSU.
When it comes to Arma 3, the performance is in the hands of the game developers. You can throw hardware at the problem but it won't fix anything much. An Intel might make the CPU bottleneck smaller hence lead to slightly better FPS but in Multiplayer...not that much.
Performance depends more on server, scripts that are run, how many players are playing, how optimized the server executable is.
It's just Arma 2 all over again.
I had 20 FPS years ago in MP. I've upgraded since then but still only see 20 FPS. Just doesn't scale to hardware.
