Hi friends,
I've recently bought a Radeon 9550(Abit R9550-256CDT) but I encounter a lot of problems in many games. The card works perfect in Warcraft3, Wolfenstein, Chronicles of Riddicks, but it hangs in some games like GTA Vice city and Big Mutha Truckers... I think there must be a problem with ATI Catalyst Driver Because all these games run perfectly on my Geforce 6200. Does anyone have any idea?

Was it a fresh build or OS install? Or was it an upgrade from an NV card? If you upgraded, did you uninstall the old drivers before pulling the old card? Did you use a driver cleaner?

It was a fresh built OS. It was a newly assembled computer system. and one more thing: It also crashes in HALF LIFE 2.
CPU: Celeron D 2500
M/B: Abit VT7
VGA: Abit 9550-256CDT
Ram: 2*128 Kingstone
OS: Windows XP Proffessional Service Pack 1

It was a fresh windows and I've just assembled the system using new parts:
Intel Celeron D 2500
Abit Vt7
Abit 9550-256CDT

what in the hell is your problem "big motha trukas". the 9550 does not suck, and i acctually preffer ati's drivers over nvidias's, i friggin hate the ocing tools with the geforces (go AtiTool!). i was usin the 5.6 drivers running half-life 2 perfectly, so try that if it dosent work then its not the drivers fault. his ram shoudlnt be the problem either i run 256 and hl2 runs fine and ran fine back then. Peace

There are about a zillion people with 9600 based cards that don't have these issues...

I'm thinking this is a problem with your particular machine, dude.

There are a couple 64-bit 9550's out there... did you happen to inadvertently grab one of those? If so, that could be part of the problem.
