I have intel core i7 2700k and asus h61m-k mobo. Whenever i startup my computer it says this cpu is not supported press F1 to run setup. Windows works fine,

This must be a bug or something.

The initial release of the Microsoft tool that checks system upgrade compatibility had some issues and was replaced on 6/2. A fix was released that will show under optional updates that you need to download and install from Windows Update if not installed automatically. Microsoft is currently moving the fix to recommended in WU.

You can verify this fix was installed by Viewing Installed updates.

After verifying the fix was installed you can re-run the Compatibility Appraiser. This will happen automatically within a day or it can be run manually from an admin command prompt:

schtasks.exe /Run /TN "\Microsoft\Windows\Application Experience\Microsoft Compatibility Appraiser"

Once started, it may take 10 minutes or so for the appraiser to complete. Once complete, re-boot and it will have the updated compatibility information

Well its not on the supported CPU list on the ASUS site. There are no 27xx CPU's listed. Only

Those are the only I7 CPU's this mobo supports

well i don't get it whay is then all running well and even games like arma works perfectly?

Do you have the latest BIOS? Might be they simply never updated the BIOS to show the microcode for the 2700 (it came along later and is simply a higher clocked 2600, so it works but the BIOS doesn't see a code for it in his programming)

Yes i do have latest bios 0801 and i think that i will have to switch mobo to some other couse there is no answer for this.

If working fine otherwise, it's a matter of putting up with the initial boot error

I know this is old but if you didn't already find this out by now, the h61m-k mobo only supports CPU less than or equal to 77 TDP. That's basically why it says it's not supported because it isn't.
