If you and your ilk would take the time to learn the milieu before succumbing to foot-in-mouth disease you would know that I'm using a San Diego 3700, have been a staunch AMD supporter for several years, and am leaving the door open between Penryn and K10 on my upcoming dual socket quadcore build based exclusively on price/performance. I have stated on many occasions, including today on another thread, that I'd be extremely happy to go AMD again. The reality of the situation is that AMD has issued absolutely nothing but PR BS on K10, written by dilettante hypemongerers.

:) :) :) --- it is not as much the actors as it was the directing and the writing. Hayden has done some decent work enough to be called an actor, but what he did in the prequels... well ... simply sucked.

But some the lines he had to deliver, come on George -- you are great with overall plot and a momentous scenes, but he should have gotten some real writers to push out the story better.

The only decent acting job in that whole movie was Ewan McGregor, and the empror dude Ian McDiarmid ---- everyone else was just not into it enough to make a good character. Even Portman, you could tell, after the first one she really did not want to be there -- she was likely under contract 😉 ...

The dialog could have been better, but given what they had to work with, I thought Liam Nesson, Sam Jackson and especially Christopher Lee all had strong moments that were diminshed by Haydens apparent lack of----anything. I agree about Natalie Portmans decaying interest and Ewan McGregor doing a good job. Funny how Haydens bits made you want to fast fwd to McGregors bits. Maybe Lucas would have been better off waiting for Jake Lloyd to get old enough to play Anakin as an adult. He would have had more time to tweak the script :wink:

Well, maybe we'll get lucky, and in another 20 years George will go through and digitally replace Hayden with someone who can act. :twisted:

In a thread where JumpingJack says "BaronMatrix was right" you can hardly expect any of the normal rules of the forumz to be observed.

However, correcting grammar on message boards as a counter argument is very poor form. English isn't exactly the easiest language to learn (having nearly 3x as many words, special exceptions, and euphemistic phrases as most other languages and is heavily influenced by slang and non-native speakers due to it's broad popularity) and you don't know if it's people's first language or not. Also, it's an ad hominem fallacy anyway. It also looks really bad when Americans who don't know any other languages at all pick on people's grammar and makes me wish I wasn't one 🙁 I totally support being mean to stupid people I just encourage everyone to dig a bit deeper than "you don't know English every well".

I don't know English or indeed any wells, let alone every well. ;-)

I jest, but there is a serious point. Sometimes it's obvious what someone intends. Other times, their means of expression is confusing; sometimes, utterly baffling.

One of the difficulties is people seek to be concise (that's a polite way of saying that they're downright dismissive and arrogant), but haven't got the linguistic skill to do so. The net result is usually a badly-constructed rant, as was evidently here the case.

Let us also not forget that the rant in this thread was ad hominem to begin with.

Therefore, whilst it is a good rule of thumb not to get all prissy about English (something I admit I do on occasion), if people act 'hastily', attacking their mode of expression seems to me to be entirely fair.
 
just because you're a nerd or even a star wars fan doesn't mean you can't accept that lucas fucked up all 3 of the prequels with his sorry ass writing and directing.

i loved the first 3 star wars movies, and despite that, i can admit the prequels were poorly done...

gorgeous effects, good actors, shitty writing, shitty director.
