Hello guys.
I really need your help.
I have an old ide to usb adapter that is just sork fine.
Normally i manage ide 3.5" old hdd.
Recovery files and "clean" them to operate in specific machines.
I have 2 same old hdd to recovery files from wich are
Seagate U6 ST340810A 40gb. I know that they are healthy (disconnected a week ago) from their desktops.
The thing is. When i plug them on the adapter nothing happens. Bios, disk management. Nothing happens. Neither usb sound pop off.
I use other hdd such as Maxtor diamonds ide and all work fine.
Is there a chance that my laptop's windows 10 are unable to identify such an old disks?

Any help appreciate.

How are the old HDD's being powered?

Just via the USB connection or does the IDE/USB adapter have a separate power supply? Or some variation thereof.

I.e. the USB for data and another power source into the HDD's power connector.

My thought is that those old drives may not be getting enough power if you are relying on just the USB connection.

It's being powererd by external power supply.
All the others ide work fine.
That's why i don't think that's the problem.
