Thoughts on my pc build.

I am looking for feedback on my PC build. This is my first PC and i am looking to see what parts you all think I should upgrade and if you see any problems with what I am looking to upgrade to. At the moment, I can run Battlefield 4 at mid settings with a few set to high.

My system as it is:
motherboard: rs880pm-am. I dont know much about motherboards but i can tell this one isn't very good...
CPU: AMD FX-4100. I was thinking the AMD FX-6300 or 6350, because they fit in my motherboard and seem good.
GPU: Nvidia GTX 560 (non ti). I have been looking at the R9 270 or 270x.
RAM: 6GB (3 X 2GB) 1333. I was going to add another 2GB card in.
raid max 530 watt power supply. I think thats fine. (Be sure to correct me if I'm wrong!)

I have done a little over clocking to the GPU and CPU but not much. the GTX 560 is running at a core clock of 902 MHz and the memory is stock at 2004 MHz. the CPU is running at 4.3 GHz.
My FX-4100 says it is quad core but is windows task manager it says it is dual core with 4 logical processors. could you clear this up for me? thanks!

I guess it's an 880G motherboard, which is a little outdated but not actually terrible. But it does seem to be an OEM board, so it's hard to get specs and so on and quality may be suspect.

The FX-4100 has two Bulldozer modules. Each Bulldozer module has two integer modules, but only one FP module. So it's kinda two cores, kinda one core.... somewhere in between. Windows interprets each Bulldozer module as 1 core, 2 threads. So the FX-4100 comes out to 2 cores, 4 threads.
The FX-6300 and 6350 have three improved Bulldozer modules. So 3 cores, 6 threads. They're identical except the 6350 runs at higher clocks by default. If you want to overclock, they should be equally good - but the 6300 is cheaper... Just make sure you check that your motherboard does support these processors. It's not enough to have the right socket (which it does).

Adding memory should work (but compatibility is never guaranteed, so keep that in mind). An R9 270 or 270X should be a reasonable upgrade.

The Raidmax power supply is rather low quality. You might want to consider replacing that with a more reliable unit.

i put a 970 chipset mobo so if you want to oc later you can (more future proof)
also, the 270x is your best bet
two sticks of 4 gb is better then 3 of 2, also you can add more when needed (again more future proof)
seasonic are great psu, but as long as they have good reviews, just go with what you think is good

i looked into the 4100 and i could not find out why it is saying it has 4 logical threads, im sorry i could not answer that, but it is a quad core cpu

Thanks for the input! I never would have thought my power supply might not be good (I almost didn't even mention it.) If I could only pick the CPU or the GPU to upgrade which one should it be?

upgrade your gpu and try to get a stable oc on your cpu
or you could do it vise versa

That's not bad, but I'd recommend a cheaper power supply. The Antec HCG-620M comes to mind. It costs half as much but is actually based on the same design and produced by Seasonic too. The wattage is just scaled down slightly.
