Hopefully this is the right place. I'm looking to max out games and get more than 60 FPS. The cost for 1440p 144hz monitors doesn't seem worth the benefit yet. The second monitor will only get basic use. No gaming. I don't see much changing with my build unless saving up takes long enough for me to go with a Pascal card.

I would normally agree but budget isn't an issue here. There's little reason to recommend an i5 when he's willing to buy a 1TB SSD and a 980 ti.
