Hey all, So I've been getting the thread stuck in device driver blue screen during video game play for months now. its totally random, I can go days without it then get several in a day.It tends to almost always happen when I leave the game running and step away from the computer for a bit.So far I've tried these steps to no avail
- Reinstalled windows 10
- uninstalled then reinstalled AMD drivers
- made sure all drivers are updated
- Updated bios
- did a SFC/scannow in the command prompt

I need some help, any ideas?

I am having the same problem on my R9 390 PC. Uninstalling the drivers with DDU and then reverting to an older version (Catalyst 15.11.1 Beta drivers) worked for me but I don't want to be stuck on Catalyst Drivers when Crimson is so much better.

EDIT: You should be able to upload the .DMP files using the OneDrive website too.

First download he Catalyst 15.11.1 beta drivers (make sure to choose 64bit:
http://support.amd.com/en-us/kb-articles/Pages/latest-catalyst-windows-beta.aspx

Then download and run DDU (17.0.5.3):
http://www.guru3d.com/files-details/display-driver-uninstaller-download.html
The downloaded file will first extract and then you must click on the Display Driver Uninstaller application.

Choose uninstall and reboot.

Wait for the PC to reboot. Once rebooted your screen resolution will be off but now you can install the 15.11.1 beta drivers. Use custom install and uncheck AMD gaming evolved and let it finish the installation then when prompted to reboot, do so.

Then you should be fine. But it's more of a temporary solution than a permanent fix because you're behind on driver updates.

So i did what you suggested and now I'm getting crashes that say "system thread exception not handled" what failed- dxgmms2.sys
