Threadripper or I9 7900x + for gaming?

Greetings community.

I am someone new to PC building and to the PC world, i always worked and played in laptops until a year ago when i got my first ever desktop being built for me.

Lately i have been watching some videos and reading some articles about the new top of the line CPU's on AMD and Intel side. I know that on either side we have cpu's that are very very good like 7700K, 8700K the ryzen line but my aim personally for the future will be the new i9 and threadripper cpu line.

Accordingly to some video feedback the threadripper 1950X is a beast of a Cpu but is it really worth for gaming? In the future with a new beast PC i'm thinking of as a new project i want to try streaming as well from the same machine while gaming, i wouldn't say that i will stream day in and day out because i have a job but while i stream my games i wish to have the least performance loss possible.

On intel side i have been looking to the intel i9 7980xe but very curious about the 7900X...the last one seems a beast for gaming.

I am posting this here asking for advice of people that i'm sure that know much more than myself...with all the videos and articles that i've read i ma more confused than when i first started thinking about the next build.

Don't even look at Threadripper for gaming. At all.

As for streaming and gaming, if you're looking for pretty high streaming quality settings, I'd recommend the 7900X. It actually streams better than the 1950X, and provides much higher frame rates. Otherwise, get any new CPU.

The i9 and Threadrippers have too many cores for their own good for pure gaming rigs currently, which is why it seems somewhat ludicrous to choose them, and have them outperformed by mainstream rigs costing about $700-$1000 less, or even more if choosing any i9 above the 7900.

8700K and 2700X are more than enough for fast gaming with streaming.....; spending much more money to get lesser framerates is of dubious value, obviously...

If you're really serious about streaming and gaming at the same time, the highest-end desktop CPUs are an option. Just expect to pay dearly for them. Most enthusiasts are better served by mainstream processors. Intel's Core i9 models generally provide better performance than the Threadripper 1950X, but they cost more, too. The 1950X is a solid value choice that also offers a diverse range of capabilities.
