I'd like to see a comparison of monitors for the content creator AND gamer. During the day the 27" or better (plasma or OLED) monitor that I'd LOVE to buy would be used for Adobe Creative Suite and other professional graphics and video creation tools and then at night I'd like to be able to use it for gaming and watching TV/video. Professional monitors with a resolution better than the standard HDTV resolution of 1920x1080 in a reasonable price range, i.e. $500-$2000 are what interest me. And, ideally, you would include a comprehensive list of monitor features with descriptions of what they mean and something about how relevant they are to each category of use (i.e., gaming, content creation, and TV/DVD/video).

Note: I've looked at sites like Consumer Reports, Crutchfield, and more in my quest for my ideal monitor and none of them really cover the subject in appropriate depth and detail.

[citation][nom]neo700[/nom]Is IPS some new kind of monitor?[/citation]No it's a type of LCD with good viewing angles & colors, below average black levels and uniformity, below average response time, and below average input lag.

Why don't you guys post your calibration settings so we can see the results on our own monitors (I have PX2370)?

am doing an assessment for my computer course and am wondering if this monitor would be a good option to use as a fast games machine / for a gamer ?
