Ti4200 Problem Need Help Bad

I have a Asus Ti4200 128 mb. I am running a P3 1 gig with 756 sdram on Windows XP. I have DirectX 9 but I think it has conflicts with my computer when I run tests on Direct3d. It freezes. And when I play games on my computer like NBA Live 2004 or Simpsons Hit and Run. I get tearing and shattered graphics. Can anyone help pleas.

I think the problem might be DX9, it doesn't seem to want to cooperate with your computer. But DX9 can't be uninstalled, so I hope you have a restore-point in WinXP.
