Hi all.

It has been a while since I posted on the site, and even longer since I last built a pc. It turned out great and am back again to seek advice from the best!

My previous build was this;
tomshardware forum
pcpartpicker

I am now looking to significantly upgrade to this;
pcpartpicker

I am concerned about the CPU having issues with the graphics card... Is this balanced? The RX 6800 is also interesting as it can outperform the 7800, but the new features and newer chipset outway that....maybe?
The budget is about what I am happy to spend, so any changes would impact other componants. I haven't spent so much befor and am feeling pressure to get it right!

Thank you guys ~ iCE

Your choice of RAM is going to be a bottleneck for sure. Try this .. the 120mm fan goes inside the back of that case for a exhaust fan.

Thanks for the quick response.
Has the motherboard changed to allow higher clock speeds on the ram? And the power supply and case, to help off set the price difference?
I like the case as it has USB-C on the front, but I did hear the included fan can be quite noisy so will take your advice on buying another exhaust fan.
Do you know if the latency differences make much difference? The CL30 and CL32 are the same price.
I also noticeed you changed the CPU. What was the reasoning for that? Was it price benefits or...? The price is basically the same in Europe at the moment. HERE
The motherboard and ram I will change and just suck up the extra cost of 50€ (the prices are different over here!).
Would you say this is a better option then?

Thank you again for helping.

Games take advantage of low latency ... the lower the better. The 7600 runs cooler and uses less juice than the 7600X while giving you near identical performance.

I would suggest the 4070 Super and this build:

Mobo with pcie 5.0 ssd support

case with included fans and front panel type C

Thanks for the input but that is $850 without the $750 Graphics card. $1600 is out of my budget for the moment.

I have gone for this.

Thanks again though!

the 4070 super is 600 USD. Not 750.
Not for me bud. its around 650€ - 700€ here - 712,48$ - 767,29$
Compared to the 509€ (557,93$) it is a hugh price hike.

I guess tech it is cheaper in the States! :)

Did you like what I am going for in the end?

Thank you again though! Have a good one.

Just the mobo. If you plan on having the PC longterm, get a better model.

Where exactly are you loacted/buying parts from?

Yep, still in freezing cold France.
lol. Here is an alternative. The cooler I chose is a bit quieter or performs a bit better at the same noise level. The new motherboard still has a great VRM and comes with an extra M.2 slot while maintaining wi-fi. The case is cheaper but just as nice to build in, the extra fan is for rear exhaust. Faster kit of RAM. Faster SSD with a DRAM cache. A better PSU also included and still around the same price, but a bit more.

Hi again. I have looked through the parts. You have some great suggestions. Ill run through my thinking.
CPU Cooler - I hear what you are saying... I just like the black ;)
Motherboard - GREAT find and will change for that.
Memory - I am not really that botherd about CL30 or 32 at the moment and can save 30€ with the other set.
Storage - The price is wrong for that one it costs 80.99€ but without the heatsink. Is shouldnt be an issue as the motherboard has a thermal guard on the M.2 PCIe 5.0. (Not that the memory needs a 5.0 slot, but its nice to have!) My question about that is, does the DRAM cache actually change a lot? What does it do?
Video card - What is the differance between the two cards?
Power supply - What is the difference between the two? Both 750, Gold?
Thanks for your suggestions and help. That motherboard is fantastic!

CPU cooler- Fair enough, the phantom spirit is only a little better anyways and 2 euros less in cost.

Motherboard - Always nice to have more storage options later.

RAM - It is very important to get the fastest memory within reason for AMD CPUs to get the best performance. I feel like this is an area the extra expense makes sense.

Storage - Regardless of whether the drive with the heatsink or the one without is chosen, a DRAM cache allows an SSD to last longer in lifetime, it has better performance for much longer in sustained writes and for another 5-10 euro, seems like a no brainer to me if its within budget.

Video card - The difference between the two cards is that the Gigabyte one has a better cooler and is slightly cheaper. I also prefer gigabyte cards over XFX cards. The gigabyte card will also have controllable RGB by the linked gigabyte motherboards application.

PSU - The difference between the power supplies is the manufacturer's. Seasonic is, as far as I am concerned, the best PSU manufacturer in the world. PSUs are the heart of any system and you want the best, longest lasting PSU with good protections as you can afford. The MSI unit is probably fine, but I do not trust MSI very much as far as warranty support.

These are just small suggestions that can help further optimize an already very good computer build recommendation by @Why_Me . I am glad I could help a bit.

Ok, I think this is it. About 100 more than I wanted to pay but you guys know what you are talking about!
