Question Time to upgrade my GPU

I am about to order my first ultrawide, and while I don't mind playing at medium settings for a while I think it will be time to upgrade my GPU in the next 6 weeks or so from the 1070 I have. It seems to me that the 5700 xt is the sweet spot of bang for buck. However I of course eventually ran across the videos showing you can flash a 5700 into a couple percentage points above a stock xt. My question is, at something in the range of 60-80 more should I even be considering the XT? I am not afraid of flashing or overclocking. I can't seem to find the right search terms to find the flashed 5700 overclocked vs 5700 xt overclocked.

Any info any of of you folks could offer would be appreciated.

Well no not quite. I understand how to unlock the 5700, my question is is there any longer any compelling reason to consider the 5700 xt?
