time to upgrade my pc

Basically I need to decide between these two options.
this is my current pc:
MB:asrock b75 pro3m
RAM: kingston hyperx 2x 4gb 1600mhz
PSU: fsp raider 650w silver
CPU i5 3550
VGA asus r9 280x
storage: 1tb seagate 7200 rpm 64mb cache
-now the first option is i sell my card and buy a new gtx 970 with ssd.
-the second option is i sell my cpu and by a new i5 4690k with a z97 mb with ssd.
mostly gaming and i don't want to spend a fortune.

The better option will be the SSD and 970 route. The 4690k CPU upgrade with added motherboard expense won't get you nearly as much performance gain as the GPU upgrade. What SSD are you looking at? The Samsung Evo drives are awesome with a price that can't be beat, especially with price to performance to reliability comparison.
