It's been about 2 years since my last computer build so I'm thinking about building a new computer and possibly using parts out of my exsisting computer. Gaming is a priority. I'm tempted to go the I7 route but it is really expensive at this point. I would like to spend maybe $800 at the most. Any feedback would be appreciated.

*Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 Conroe 2.4GHz 4M shared L2 Cache LGA 775
*ARCTIC COOLING Freezer 7 Pro (cpu fan)/Artic Silver Themal Paste

*Kingston HyperX 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) -timing: 4-4-4-12 -voltage: 2.0v -cas latency: 4
*COOLMAX CW-650T EPS12V 650W Aluminum ATX v2.01

I would recommend sticking with your current setup and waiting for one or even 2 more generations to pass by, that setup will still be fine for a long time.....

I guess I misread that, if that's your current system stick with it for sure. Wait until i5 comes out this summmer if you really want to upgrade. As your system stands now it's fine as spuddyt said. If you want more horsepower for gaming grab one of the cards I linked.

Might wanna upgrade proc to Q6600. Go with a GTX series video card. Overclock the RAM to latency of 5-5-5-18
Moving to the Q6600 is good to keep you current for another 1 or 2 years.

Depending on what resolutions you play at and what level of detail your comfortable with your current videocard is fine. I mean, Fear 2, Far Cry 2 and Fallout 3 all run on my 9800GT with high settings at 1080p no problem.
