The biggest question would be: Does VR have to use some level of realism, graphics wise, or are there physiological limitations that would cause extreme discomfort if realism is thrown out the window? i.e. does everything have to have fixed shapes that represent real-world properties or are experiences with un-natural properties possible and useful for certain experiences, like different colors and shapes to each eye to produce things like impossible colors and fluid shapes?

My question would be about safety. It may be boring but wearing VR gear over your eyes could lead to people possibly knocking things or even tripping and hurting themselves.

While I imagine some of this is inevitable and hard to avoid. What steps are being made to educate or inform users of the possible risks and to advise them on the best way to set up a safe VR environment? Are there any other technological solutions that may aid in helping to provide a safe playing environment?

Thanks!

How do you intend to involve VR in the e-sports arena? I'm talking about in person events, like Quakecon or BlizzCon. RTS would obviously be a much easier implentation, putting you more in a "command and control" VR room, where-as FPS would probably involve some type of restricted movement. Consider for FPS, a 4v4 CTF game.

Can you integrate air blowing fans into the experience? My friend had something from Philips years ago called Ambi that had extra lights and fans for added immersion and VR could be enhanced by external stimuli.

I would like to now if the second Generation of VR Sets will have lower minimum System Specs, so more Users could play it without buying a new High End PC. Will they optimise the Engine and Dataflow from VR Set to PC ?

My question is: What is gonna be next level in gaming after VR? We all know soon VR will be popular but what comes after that? Will we ever have a device so advanced that it could read our thoughts for example?

I don't know if this is a queestion so much as a request. Being able to see certain things on your desktop as well as seeing your hands could be very helpful. With cameras on the front of the vive and since it would be easy to mount one on the rift. Have any developers considered tage or tracking or maybe chroma key options so you can see like in elite dangerous in case you need to reorient yourself to a hotas system?

Even hotkey for camera passthrough?

How practical would chroma keying be? Like laying a green sheet on my desk and setting the items I want to see inside that green field?

My question is: how quickly do you see VR gear come down in prices to become a common add-on to a PC, instead of a nice, but rather pricey, piece of kit?

Also, what will you envision the future bring in terms of VR hardware?

Good luck, everyone!

My question is: when will VR be wireless? Having all those cables seems clunky. Wireless VR would also allow for greater freedom of movement.

I assume something like a Steam Link would be needed, but instead of connecting to your TV, it connects to your wireless VR headset.

Good LUck!

Hello!
I've had a chance to play Elite: Dangerous with old Oculus Rift DK1 and experience was overall great! The biggest issue for me was with reading text, and I'd like to ask what ideas do you have to make text more readable and clear? For my PC rendering Elite: Dangerous with high resolutions and VR mode would be probablly too much, but could it be possible to display text only in higer resolutions, while we would leave rest of screen with lower resolution and faster rendering?
King regards,

I would ask a VR developer whether they have any thoughts on using VR as an educational tool. Gamification of learning combined with the experience of VR could have potential to capture students' attention for subjects/topics that are usually dry (when using traditional means) or simplify complex concepts greatly.

Many techs like VHS, DVD, internet videos, was driven by porn. What is your thinking about the use of VR to make porn movies or games ?

With VR headsets being on their very first consumer version while also being pricey, they aren't exactly tempting right now. When would you personally buy one for yourself?

My question would be: Would it be posible to adjust for vision defects via software, thereby making it possible to eliminate lenses by using a wrap-around display (e.g. bendable OLED), and approach/reach human field-of-view?

I would ask how long in the future they think would it take to develop devices that bring total immersion to the user, be them haptic/force-feedback, better viewing and audio equipment, motion recognition, the whole thing. What and how long would it take to develop a comfortable and total immersive experience?

Will VR ever become mainstream to users outside of the gaming and tech communities, and what can be done from the developer's standpoint to make this happen?

How far away are we from wireless streaming VR content from our gaming rigs to our phones and Google cardboard? ? What are the technologies that need to improve for this to work over wifi (or even 4G/5G)?
